The Build Challenge winners
The Build Challenge results are in. Three builds, three cash prizes, and a lot of good work in between.
Out of all the submissions, the judges picked the three projects that stood out: a game that bends its own rules, a headset turned into a film studio, and a shield built from scratch. Thank you to everyone who uploaded their work, it made for a genuinely difficult decision.
Whatever Continuum.
A reality-bending 2D sandbox platformer where every challenge has more than one solution. The player pulls characters and objects from other worlds to solve each level. A vertical slice for now, with plans to keep building.
Shroozy Stage.
Turns a Meta Quest into a miniature mixed-reality virtual-production studio. Place a stage in passthrough, block actors, animate cameras and timelines, record a take, monitor it from desktop, and generate three AI-finished cinematic cuts to compare.
The Viking Shield.
A Viking shield modelled in Blender over about five hours and textured in Substance Painter. He followed a tutorial as a guide, then reworked the handle to look more realistic, played with the modifiers, and changed the shield's colour.
